TNO (Trust No One)
TNO security means even Solid Invoice cannot access your data. All sensitive information stays encrypted on your device and only you hold the keys.
This principle ensures that no vendor, no platform provider, and no attacker can read your business records without your explicit action.
Encrypted by Default
Encrypted by default means your invoices, quotes, clients, expenses, and settings are stored locally and encrypted at rest on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
In practice: if your device is lost, stolen, or someone tries to break in, the data inside Solid Invoice remains cryptographically unreadable without your device passcode or biometrics. There’s no cloud copy for us to access, and the encryption keys never leave your device.
You’re always in control. If you choose to export data unencrypted (e.g., CSV for tax time), we clearly warn you first so you can make an informed decision.
Pre-egress Encryption
Before any data leaves your device (for example, when syncing to iCloud), Solid Invoice encrypts it first. What travels over the wire and sits on Apple’s servers is already scrambled. Even Apple only ever sees ciphertext — not your invoices or client data.
Privacy-Aware Exports
When you export CSVs or PDFs, Solid Invoice pauses and asks you to confirm. This prevents accidental creation of unencrypted files without your knowledge. Exports are your responsibility — you own them, and you control where they live.
